Review of Colossal (2017) by Paul B — 20 Apr 2017

Starring Anne Hathaway and Jason Sudeikis, Colossal tells the story of Gloria (Hathaway), a woman with alcohol dependency issues who returns to her hometown after breaking up with her boyfriend. However, her life takes an even stranger turn when it transpires that she seems to have a connection with a Kaiju type monster which is causing havoc thousands of miles away in Korea.

Whatever you do, do not be fooled by the trailer for Colossal which depicts the film as some kind of light-hearted comedy. Although there are comedic elements, this films also looks at some serious issues.

Colossal won't be to everyone's taste, however, it's one of the most original you'll see all year and well worth checking out.
