Review of Collateral Damage (2002) by Stephen C — 04 Dec 2012
Pretty dull Arnie action flick which is odd considering the fact its directed by the fellow who directed Under Seige and The Fugitive.
Once again Arnie is on the revenge trail after his family is killed in a bombing and the film becomes such jingoistic nonsense that it kills any interest and renders the film boring.
Everybody is Columbia is potrayed as a lowlife scumbag, mad terrorist or drug dealer sometimes all three, and its down to America to save the day once again.
Arnie is fine but the film is so stupid that you secretly want to root for the bad guys as all the other characters are all lunkheads or loonys or both.
The action scenes are slack and John Tutturo and John Leguizamo are both wasted in largely thankless roles .
One for Arnie fans only then and even they will find very little to enjoy.
