I truly don't understand why all the negative reviews for this film. I shied away from watching it for years because of them. But boredom and the fact that it was the only thing on HBO that I hadn't seen.

So I decided to watch. And I really am glad I did. This is a star studded cast that didn't disappoint. They weren't super amazing, but they all were very believable and solid. I think that many that didn't enjoy this expected every single heavy hitter to knock it out of the park.

I understand that. It makes sense. But when a cast is this strong and this good, you can't allow your performance to over power the others. I think the fact that they all played well with one another and didn't attempt to be the individual stand out star helped in make the chemistry great.

Had this film been exactly the same but with a different cast, I guarantee that people would've loved it. This movie was very well acted and very well done. I enjoyed it. Without question. And Helen Mirren just absolutely stole the show.

She was the standout here.
