Review of Collateral Beauty (2016) by Melissa S — 11 May 2017
After having lost a child myself the movie kind of spoke to the overwhelming grief that consumes you. About how you want to shut out the world and pretend it's not there. You don't want to move past this tragedy because it has become all there is.
That life has become meaningless and you in turn become bitter and angry at all things known and unknown in this world. Will smith was excellent in showing how that pain manifests itself in all that you knew of your life.
That you have to breakdown and destroy the old concept of "self" and the world as you knew it to move beyond the grief. In hopes that one day you can become at peace with what has happened.
