Review of Collateral Beauty (2016) by Dan B — 17 Dec 2016
I loved loved loved this movie. It's one of the most original films I have ever seen and certainly one of the most beautiful looking. It made me look at life differently. It made me realize I need to move on from y own grief.
It's deeply affecting. I think reviewers see too many movies and wind up annointing the obvious "anti-commercial" little movies. what this movie does so brilliantly is manage to have real insight and originality while keeping us boldly entertained.
And what is wrong with them, will Smith's performance is devastating. He fully embodies what a man in that character's position would experience, but instead the critics love the fake working-class bullshit in another film that I am sure that writer knows nothing about, fake Boston accents at all -- not, this movie though pushed in a theatrical way is much more honest.
Go see it, you'll get it (unless you are a critic)! The domino chains alone are worth price of admission.
