Review of Collateral (2004) by Clark C — 28 Jun 2011
My favorite Tom Cruise movie. I know that says a lot considering his library, but this movie is great start to finish. Michael Mann controls our moods with his blend of music and night. TC makes us actually care about Vincent and almost empathise with him.
Foxx's character contrasts Vincent in a way that we wind up caring equally about both of them. Ruffalo does a wonderful job as the detective as well. Lots of unexpected twists in what you would think would be a predictable plot.
