Review of Collateral (2004) by Alex B — 02 Oct 2015
It's only peer is Heat IN EVERYTHING. Michael Mann created another masterpiece with his visuals and soundscapes (and of course another one of the best shootouts ever staged even if the bullets and bodies get as high as they did in Heat in the bar sequence, it somehow is more suspenseful and just as realistic) and launched Jamie Foxx and an actor with few in his way and proved Tom Cruise a master at his craft who needs to play more villains.
His Vincent is the performance he should be remembered as and not Jerry Maguire. This is how to make a compelling action/crime thriller, and there's still enough bullets and body bags to go around.
