Review of Cold Souls (2009) by Dawn C — 27 Mar 2010
Charlie Kaufmanesque story except instead of John Malkovich, it's Paul Giamatti playing himself, this time as a tormented actor who decides to shelf his soul for a bit so he can finish off rehearsals of Uncle Vanya, but finds his acting ability has vanished along with his soul.
The plot moves along nicely, and there's wit in the script, the best bit being Giamatti's indignant face when he finds out what his "deeply artistic" soul really looks like.
