Review of Cold Souls (2009) by Kevin L — 04 Jan 2011

This is an interesting concept for a movie. The ability to extract your soul and store it. The ability to buy a different soul and have it inserted. The ability to rid oneself of a soul that is weighing them down, so much as that they believe they can never find happiness.

This isn't a feel good movie, it isn't for cheap entertainment. It is meant to be thought provoking. Giamatti does an excellent job and the movie may seem to wander, but that is only trying to lend gravity to the situation.

It has been dubbed a comedy but I think it is more of a drama. See it for yourself. Go into it with an open mind and stick with it. Afterwards ponder it for awhile and see what you think.
