An interesting film that is somewhat similar to past releases being john malkovich and adaptation. cold souls has some humor and impressive individual scenes but overall it lacks focus and a discernable storyline.

paul giamatti is marvelous in this film even though his character isn't very endearing. it's what makes the role memorable but unfortunately detaches the audience from him and the film overall.

this is a film for the cinephile and not casual viewing for the everyday filmgoer...
