Review of Cold Mountain (2003) by Giselle G — 10 Nov 2010
For 2003:
Another epic sweeping emotional roller-coaster of a movie.
Fantastic performance from Renee Zellwegger.
Nicole Kidman serves well as the hopeful, vulnerable woman in love with a stranger Jude Law emotes, through the harshness of war all these people find the strength and courage to bear the unbearable.
The cost of fighting and killing in the same brethern country makes the movie at times a challenge to watch.
'Cold Mountain' though acheives what it acheives thorugh magnificent scenery and top-notch acting.
'English Patient' director, Anthony Minghella once again hits us hard mostly at the heart and has us walking out knowing that fighting is the last thing we as human beings want.
