Review of Cold in July (2014) by Stanley F — 01 Jul 2014
This was a story that had great potential for a good film, the story of a young family man accidentally shooting an intruder while protecting his sleeping family and living with the fear of the victims criminal father stalking him and his family in the aftermath.
Then he realises the person he shot wasn't who the police said he was and finds himself in partnership with the ex con father in trying to find out who the intruder was and where is the ex cons son.
Enter Don Johnson playing a private investigator who plays his part perfectly but unfortunately even this couldn't save the second part of the film which just turned in to a vigilante blood bath with holes in the plot that were big enough to fall through!! A shame because the three main actors did an excellent job with the script given and if only the films second half had been as good as the first it could have been a five star!!!
