Review of Cold in July (2014) by Stephen R — 08 Oct 2014
Every so often, a movie comes along that is as good as you hear it is...when you pop it on, you just know...for what it is, this noir-ish seedy like thriller is about perfect....great perfromances including the Dexter fella who I confess I wasnted not to like cuz Dexter bugs me deeply, as does his big ass head on too many posters.
..but there's no Dexter in Michael C Hall's dope mullet infused performance as a shy stand up fella who accidentally shoots his way into the wrong crowd....most specifically a perfectly used Sam Sheppard.
...supporting roles all strong, esp by the time Don Johnson shows up, he is more than welcome...nifty cinematography....and a wacky cool soundtrack....and of course a terrific script by our Jean Cocteau friend, the talented Joe Lansdale.
