Review of Cold in July (2014) by Hayden B — 14 Oct 2014
Man, Jim Mickle with the We Are What We Are and Cold In July one-two punch, this guy's shaping up to be one to watch. July pays homage to 1980's Carpenter film making in a very similar and entertainingly giddy way that Wingard's The Guest does.
Its a fantastically directed genre jumper, fun as all hell even if some of the protagonist's decisions defy any kind of solid logic.
