'Cold in July' supports not only great performances from Michael C.Hall and Sam Shepard, but also pristine direction from Jim Mickle. I did feel slightly let down however, by the films huge leaps in story, to the point where sometimes you begin wonder if you're still watching the same movie you put on an hour ago.
