Review of Cold in July (2014) by Richard D — 19 May 2015
A great little Texas noir based on a book by Joe R. Lansdale. Hall plays a business owner and family man who accidentally shoots an intruder in his home. While the law is okay with the shooting, the ex-con father (Shepard) of the guy he shot isn't so okay with it.
Saying much more would be wrong since this movie goes to some surprising places. Suffice it to say that what seems to be a take on "Cape Fear" evolves into something a lot more like "Rolling Thunder".
The three leads are great, including Don Johnson playing a private detective.
