Review of Coffy (1973) by Larry W — 26 Feb 2010
I love how Pam Grierâ??s Coffy starts the film off with a single murder (kill the dealer who hooked her sister) and it quickly escalates into a blood fueled vengeance quest against King Georgeâ??s pusher pimp and Allan Arbusâ??s oogie Mob boss.
Grier may be remembered more for her role as Foxy Brown, but what I love about Coffy is that she starts the film off as this weak character (uncontrollable anger, blind love for a doofus/asshole politician) and ends the film as this Valkayrie goddess of war.
Brutal revenge tale on par with Charles Bronsonâ??s Death Wish. VF.
