Review of Coffy (1973) by Renaldo J — 09 Jun 2009
This was my first forray into blaxploitation cinema. I've avoided the genre for years, fearful of the cheese and, bad acting, and everything else associated with these types of films.
But then I saw it. Yes, it had terrible acting. Yes it was cheesy, but all of that can be completely ignored due to the inetensity and the visceral momentum pounding through the entire film.
I'm taking Foxy Brown to movie night and I can't wait to see what else Hill and Grier have in store for me.
