Review of Code Unknown (2000) by Fredrick R — 10 Apr 2009
I normally like Michael Heneke's films, and I don't mind non linear storytelling, but this "multiple stories intersecting at one moment" movie is rather dull. Telling the story of a French actress (Juliet Binoche) and her photojournalist husband, a Romanian illegal immigrant, and an Immigrant family from Mali (whose story isnt really fleshed out very well)that all intersect on a busy Paris Street.
The separate stories are just not interesting or compelling. It tries to deal with some race and class issues but it just falls flat.
