Review of Cocoon (1995) by Jeffrey R — 25 Oct 2012
Great acting and convincing unique caracters. I thought I was about to see a trashy 80s science fiction movie but instead it was more like a philosophical and character movie covering topics like handling death, getting older and what happyness is about.
It didn't really force these topics on the spectator but covered them very much in subtext. I also liked that it was pretty slow paced and much about the characters and their developement instead of being about some constructed plot.
The aliens to me seemed more of a metaphor or mehod to confront the characters with some of these topics.
