Review of Coco Before Chanel (2009) by Peter V — 15 Feb 2010
I really wanted to like this move more then I did because Audrey was born to play Coco. Audrey's performance is flawless...but the movie itself lets her down...the screenplay makes the interaction with Balsan and Boy feel like a cheap tv romantic drama.
And yes the movie is named "avant" Chanel...I get it...but if you get Audrey to play Chanel we really want to see her as THE Coco Chanel. Still for all of us a little in love with the gorgeous Audrey its 2 hours well spent.
