Review of Cockneys vs Zombies (2012) by Matt A — 18 Jun 2013
A new zombie film is made nearly every week and its the same bad acting, bad make up, bad story, bad pacing. I was more then thrilled to see a trailer for this but less excited when I found out this is a straight to DVD affair.
Taking into account the low budget, its actually OK. The gore looks like Heinz Ketchup and cheap meat from a supermarket counter but its very enjoyable. Clocking in at less then 85 mins it is one of those films that abruptly ends, but the beginning is fast paced and although the cause of the outbreak is simple it gives time to get down to the action.
Its obviously been written into that the writers have seen too many films where the actors always wonder what they are and how to kill them and bites are ok, they know the rules and quite happily don't beat around the bush with them, which is refreshing to see.
Proper B movie quality but enjoyable nonetheless.
