Review of Cobra Verde (1987) by Derrick P — 18 Jun 2007
This movie has tons of beautiful scenes but just isn't as mesmerizing as other Herzog movies. The beautiful images are plentiful and the movie starts out with a lot of energy, but it started to drag during the second half of the movie.
Da Silva trying to pull the boat was worth sitting through the entire thing. Highly recommended to Herzog fans, but for the uninitiated I suggest Fitzcarraldo, Aguirre or Stroszek.
