Review of Cobra (1986) by Benjamin M — 06 Sep 2008
This is a film that really requires you to "leave your brain at the door". After doing so, you'll find a strongly violent, yet somehow entertaining piece that's quite the distraction.
One thing that I found interesting about this film, is how it is a shining light of an example of just how excessive the 80's were.
With its over the top (no pun intended) dialog, to the vehicles, manslaughter, violence and explosions. This film was definitely seemed to be a reflection for the times. And strangely, that seems to be what makes me come back to this film. As it's a nice little time capsule of "Alpha Male celluloid".
There's not a lot I have to say about this film other than when you're craving a taste of mindless action candy, seek this film out.
If you seek something with a bit more substance, go elsewhere.
