Review of Cobra (1986) by Ivan S — 25 Jan 2018
You want a movie that makes you think? You want a movie that has deep, significant meaning? Then go away. This isn't the movie for you. And that's how I like it.
Cobra is pure action, sappy one-liners that you love to repeat, and action that goes over the top but is SO much fun to watch, that you can't take your eyes off it.
It's almost an 80's reboot for the original Dirty Harry. And of course, you have two alumni from the first Dirty Harry in it: Andrew Robinson (Scorpio) and Reni Santoni (Chico Gonzolez). Over the top violence, stunts, and one liners make this an action flick where you just pop the popcorn, smother it in butter, turn the lights down, pump up the 5.1 surround, and recline in your recliner and just veg out on mindless action that is fun to watch over and over again.
