Review of Cobra (1986) by Aodhan R — 31 Jan 2015
It may have lack of plot structure, and my appear very short in running time, but it's still a fairly good movie with some good action moments.
It's basically about a manhunt for a serial killer, with Sylvester Stallone playing the hero. He plays a cop who works under his own course of action and superiority.
It's a very cool and fun movie to watch. If you're an action movie fan or even a Stallone fan and have enjoyed his best work in the Rambo and Rocky series then this is probably the movie for you, and you can't resist it. I can't guarantee it offers a great plot to follow; the screenplay is overstuffed with lazy writing, but it doesn't completely ruin the movie's great action moments.
Director George P. Cosmatos delivers a great standard of action in this movie to fit the 1980s, but it doesn't outweigh his previous work with Stallone in 'Rambo: First Blood part II.'.
What I loved and enjoyed most is that the movie features big guns. In most Hollywood action movies big guns like rifles or similar aren't featured, and instead they've regularly used pistols and handguns, but I'm glad this time around they filled in fabulous action moments with them. The same way the 'Rambo' movies and 'The Expendables' movies featured them.
