This is the story of one of my favorite country singers life, the story of country Queen Loretta Lynn, and the break through film of Cissy Spaceck. Funny story Loretta herself picked Sissy to play her even before speaking to her and before she agree'd.
Siss was actually angry but once the saw the redneck woman in person, she couldn't refuse, and this career defining film was created. I don't think Sissy lived up to the theatrical greatness of this movie, until "North County" Sissy, along with Lawrence Fishburn, Jamie Fox, and Resse Witherspoon, (Ike Turner, Ray Charles, and June Carter Cash) was born to this roles, much the same as the others were born to do theirs.
