Sissy Spacek does a portrayal of the country legend singer Loretta Lynn. The story begins with her 13 year old proposal from her Dolittle Lynn (Tommy Lee Jones) and covers her rise to one of the most known presences in country music.
Spacek's performance is impressive as she did her own singing as well. The Coal Miner's daughter is the story of the ultimate American dream of starting from nothing to being a star. The film is a fine music biography and features solid performances.
