Review of Coal Miner's Daughter (1980) by Douglas O — 20 Jul 2009
Great biopic - and Sissy Spacek does her own singing, which to my untrained ear sounded pretty good. Tommy Lee Jones kind of steals the movie as her husband, Doo, who without any kind of blueprint and with his own intuition, gets Loretta to the right places at the right time to become the First Lady of Country Music.
