Review of Club Dread (2004) by Chad M — 17 Oct 2007

This movie had potential. But like lots of Jimmy Buffet albums that apparently inspired one of the characters, it falls short in many ways. It's not exactly a horror spoof, and not exactly horror, but it's not funny enough or scary enough to be purely either.

What it is instead is a mixture of elements from both genres, with neither really stellar. Parody movies have abounded recently, and while some have been impressive, this is not one of them. The scenery isn't bad here, but it takes more than ladies to make up for lackluster writing.
