Review of Club Dread (2004) by Ren'ee W — 30 Nov 2010
This Broken Lizard flick has some surprisingly tense horror sequences which almost undermine its status as a spoof or parody of the slasher genre. Still, there are enough laughs to keep the boat afloat, and the cast has such great chemistry that I'm surprised to see so many mixed reviews for this film.
It may be due to the fact that there's more horror here than anyone really anticipated, but that's one of the things I love most about "Club Dread". That and Bill Paxton.
