Review of Closer (2004) by Amjad A — 13 Oct 2011
Natalie Portman, Jude Law, Clive Owen and Julia Roberts all deliver amazing knock-out performances in this well written, witty, shocking and over the top anti-romace drama about two couples who seem to intertwine with one another in ways that are vindictive, manipulative and wrong.
This film deals with guilt, betrayal, adultery, and it mainly centres on sexual erotisism. It is very disturbing, and the dialogue was very raw, but at the same time, brutally honest and brilliant. Some might find this movie offensive and shocking, while others might find it provocative and ineteresting.
It divides the audience. You either love the film, or you hate it. I personally belive it was impeccably and amazingly constructed, acted and directed. 4 STARS.
