Review of Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) by Julie B — 10 Nov 2012
From Steven Spielberg when he was shooting in the 70's and 80's, has become a tradition expected entertaining movie. So the audience aimed at mindless pastime, were somewhat disappointed of this picture, which was released exactly on the 30th anniversary of the director, although she still enjoyed enormous success at the box office (the budget of $ 20 million was surpassed by more than 6.5 time only in the U.S. box office, and if the count data, adjusted for inflation, the "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" - on the 67th place in the history of American cinema.) This is a serious and intelligent (at the exact remark American critic Leonard Moltina) sci-fi tape telling about trying to establish direct contact with an alien civilization. Spielberg has carefully studied the various reports, all sorts of information about UFOs, met with people who, in one way or another, humanity faced with unknown effects.
Naturally, the director-leader superzrelischnogo cinema all these experiences and knowledge sought to translate on the screen, with a directing scope, startling special effects (though "Oscar" was awarded only sound effects). Also received Academy Award  (R) and operator of Vilmos Zsigmond, who reproduced the spectacular and sometimes mysterious pattern associated with the emergence of "flying saucers" in the world. Also, Steven Spielberg is difficult to imagine without the music of John Williams, which creates a tense atmosphere of action, really captures the audience's attention (interestingly, the "Oscar" in the same year went to this composer of the score for a landmark to another fantastic film project "Star Wars" , has won the Oscar fight at strip Spielberg 7:2). Again after the film "Jaws" Spielberg starred Richard Dreyfuss, and the role of the scientist, expert on UFOs, was invited to a kind of "alien in Hollywood" - French director Francois Truffaut.
The new version - "Close Encounters of the Third Kind. A special edition "- came three years later. He is three minutes shorter due to cuts in the middle of the installation steps, but has a box in the final: humans are alien spacecraft, where they see a drop-down "divine" light and the dim outline of a creature apparently celestial. It seems such a specification is still excessive. You just a hint of contact, as in the first edition.
