Unbelievable, but I had never seen this movie. I could have lived the rest of my life without missing it. This is not one of Spielberg's hits, in my opinion--he's made many far better films as we all know.
It was probably great at the time it came out, but really, I think I would have been bored to tears if I had seen it in 1977. It seems like most fans are impressed with the visual effects and that's why it's a great film.
I usually enjoy movies for other reasons though and this didn't do it for me.
