I thought this movie kicked ass when I was a kid, but shit on kids. Cloak & Dagger is an awesome movie that deserves an 8/10 but it has one fatal flaw that ruins it's genius. For most movies I can make up an excuse for something that doesn't make sense, for example: How did the bad guy get the plastic explosives in Kim's walkie-talkie without her noticing in this movie? Maybe she left it at home while she was out? Who knows, but you can make a reasonable excuse.
However, I cannot come up with an excuse for this: Why, or how, did the bad guy with the Uzi see Jack Flack when he is just a figment of the boy's imagination? This little scene falls completely out of place in the movie. Maybe Davie's shouting convinced the gunman there was someone there? I don't buy it. That scene ruined the movie for me.
Aside from that this movie is rock and roll with Atari home game systems and everything! Davie has a Pole Position poster in his room. How punk rock is that? The story, aside from that scene, kicks ass and the ending rocks. 80's greatness.
