Review of Clifford (1994) by Troy D — 31 Jan 2018
I guess maybe its just me, IMDB and RT give this movie terrible scores. This is one of those stupid movies that I just love, and I really cant explain why. When Uncle Martin is yelling at him in the dining room and yells, "God almighty, boy!".
..i lose it. Every time. The plot is ridiculous, the acting is ok (Oscar winner Mary Steenburgen....i have the strangest crush on her), and the jokes have been done a million times, but I love it. As far as stupid PG-13, family friendly movies go, this one captured it beautifully!! Honestly, the biggest winner of all has to be Charles Grodin, I cant imagine how great it must be to show up on set and be told to do EXACTLY what youve done in every movie youve ever been in.
...and still get a huge paycheck. What im tryin to say is, sometimes movies dont have to win awards or "change the world", sometimes its totally ok to put Martin Short on his knees and declare hes 11 years old.
Why is it ok?....cause, fuck you. Thats why.
