Review of Cliffhanger (1993) by Kortnee G — 27 Jul 2009
Die Hard... on a mountain! Cliffhanger is your standard 90's action movie fare: a ruthless group of villains take on a one man army for a boatload of cash. John Lithgow as a bad guy? He's kind of bland, but it works.
These kinds of movies have one or two really cool death scenes and my favorite would have to be the stalactite death. Although the greenscreen work looks pretty obvious nowadays, a lot of the movie's stuntwork makes up for it.
In the end, Cliffhanger feels kind of on the lengthy side and feels done before, but it's a pretty good action movie.
