Review of Cliffhanger (1993) by Tim F — 11 Jan 2015
Nobody does this sort of fare better than Sylvester Stallone. Implausible mountain climbing techniques are on order for our hero to save the day, rescuing an hilariously over-the-top Michael Rooker from the evil clutches of a brilliantly moustache-twirling John Lithgow.
Lithgow has fun with the material at hand, which calls for him to deliver what would have to be the most clichéd dialogue ever attributed to an action movie villain... and he does it with relish. An overall exciting, competently produced, testosterone-induced beer-and-pizza night effort.
