While not the best movie in the world, it is not as bad as critics made out. I thought it had a good message. Yes, like It's a Wonderful Life, it has the main character evaluate his life, but in this case the issue is that if you try to skip any parts of it that seem not entirely pleasant, you'll also waste some of the best times of your life.

Life is to be enjoyed in full because good times are mixed with not so good. Wishing to experience only the good times makes you makes you wish your life away. And that is a good message about which to think.
