Review of Clerks (1994) by Russell G — 11 Dec 2011
This goes to show that a low budget, black & white movie with no star power can really be a huge success. Years after it was made it retains its shock factor, which must have meant it was unbelievable back in 1994.
The comedy comes almost entirely from the dialogue of two normal guys. Their random topics, offensive subjects, and passion in which they argue the most insignificant points are simply hilarious. Jay & Silent Bob are very funny and effective transitional elements.
Less really is more with Clerks, characters, conversations and personalities make this movie great.
