Kevin Smith's first film and one of the best comedies I've ever seen. It's the very origin of the viewaskewuniverse (a series of films connected to each other). The characters are so realistic and the dialogues are very well written.
Whoever likes this film should check these too: Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob strike back and Clerks II in this particular order. Among other characters there are special appearances by George Carlin, Stan Lee etc.
Also, Clerks introduces the legendary duo of Jay and Silent Bob.
