Review of Clear and Present Danger (1994) by Jim M — 14 Jun 2008
Harrison Ford plays CIA man Jack Ryan who gets caught between his superiors and a Columbian Drug Cartel when the President launches a secret and illegal war in Columbia. Probably the best movie from a Tom Clancy novel, like all of them this feels more inspired by then based on.
Philip Noyce does a great job with the material however and Ford is great as is the supporting cast (particularly James Earl Jones, Willem Dafoe, Joaquim de Almeida, Raymond Cruz). Plus the Bogota Convoy ambush is one of the best scenes ever.
