Review of Clear and Present Danger (1994) by Matt M — 18 Jan 2013
Thriller about a head of CIA in charge of an attack on some South American drug lords with gripping twists that become very representational of underground politics and drug dealing, as well as openly and intelligently sending messages of the faults upon which the American system depends.
Great screenplay, though perhaps the many plot developments can be tough to follow, this is a step up from the usual thrillers of the kind by being entertaining as well as intelligent in juxtaposing well action scenes with political scenes.
It is also a step up from Patriot Games, the first Noyce movie where Harrison Ford played Jack Ryan.
