Beyond its visuals is absolutely nothing. No interesting characters with any level of emotional (or psychological) development, no strong stories to be told (though the source material suggests otherwise), and no value in the spirit of Greek mythology.
The script is as bad as some scripts go and the action fails due to bad direction and upsetting camera work. The only marketable feature of the film was the Kraken and even that was thrust aside within seconds.
Better to pass on the CGI update and vote for the cheesy, classic old CGI effects of the 80s.
