Review of Clash of the Titans (1981) by Mark N — 03 Aug 2009
God, I must be one of the only poeple who couldn't stand this film. Every reveiw I read calls it a classic and loves it, but I am not sure what about it is so great. The stop animation is fine, and actually well done for its time.
The acting is a whole other store. I have never seen anyother Harry Hamlin film, and he seems like a nice guy, but Jesus it was tough to watch him after that Mudussa scene. Without spoiling it for anyway, I am not sure why he was so beat up after that scene, hardly anything happened.
That is the other thing that made this movie impossible, all the cuts for dramatic effect that failed terribly. The cuts in the final scene of the movie are infuriating. They shouldn't call the new one a re-make, just the original so we can forget all about this one.
