Review of Clash of the Titans (1981) by Jon P — 06 Aug 2014
Turning the tale of Perseus into a fleshy, family-friendly action adventure, Desmond Davis' Ancient Greek Epic is a stop motion marvel, bathed in mystery and mythology.
Clever cross-cutting and editing blurs battle boundaries between live action and animation and Davis' tender direction ensures the film oozes all-audience appeal and, more notably, childlike wonder throughout. A must-see, if only for Ray Harryhausen's majestic effects work. Things were better in the good old days.
