I watched this before the remake, and after seeing both I have too say that this is the inferior film. It's script is better but the characters are more annoying.
Yes I knew that the special effects were going to be stop motion, and I did like all the stop motion ffects apart from the Kraken and Calibos' vultures. I loved the medusa scene but also when you think about it, this film was done after the likes of the Star Wars films, which had an amazing budget.
The thing is, I was bored. I was never fully entertained, apart from the Medusa's Lair scene (which was much better than in the remake).
For a better Greek-Harryhausen film, watch Jason and the argonauts.
