Review of CJ7 (2008) by Cli O — 14 Dec 2008

I love Stephen Chow movies. They are usually filled with a childish sense of glee and abandonment of pretention. Unfortunately I cannot completely say that about CJ7. While it at times lets itself go like his other films, it unfortunately feels the need to completely beat its message over our heads far after we have assimilated it (which happens about 15 minutes in).

It is a cute movie that kids may like, but it rambles on far too long and ultimately isn't nearly as creative as it tries to be. One dream sequence is fantastic, classic Chow, but the rest.....
