Review of City of Women (1980) by Sean H — 23 Apr 2008
This movie has me torn. The first ten minutes own, the 20 minutes following bore me to tears, especially after repeated viewings. Once Snaporaz gets to the Phallic Mansion, things pick up immensely. The scene where Snaporaz wanders the hall of conquests is one of my favorite Fellini scenes ever.
Unfortunately, a good deal of what follows is just not that interesting. I'm not sure what rating to give. 4 stars seems appropriate.
