Review of City of Men (2007) by Scott S — 16 Nov 2008
A heartbreaking look into the lives of those caught in the slums of Rio de Janeiro. Though unable to match the haunting tragedy of "City of God", "City of Men" is a worthy follow-up.
The contrast between the beauty of the coastlines and sky to the violence and chaos of the slums was stunning. The film ended with a small, simple note of hope... and though welcome, was probably more then could be asked for.
